This page explains what personal data eythor.com and the products linked from it collect, why, and what you can do about it. Plain English, no padding.

What I collect
Visitors to eythor.com (the portfolio site)
Nothing personal. There's no analytics, no tracking cookies, no third-party scripts that profile you. The static host (Netlify) keeps short-lived server logs of IP addresses and request URLs for security and operational purposes only — typically retained for around 30 days.
Deal Finder users who sign in
- Email address — used solely to deliver sign-in (magic-link) emails. Stored in Supabase (database hosted in the EU).
- Trade records — items, quantities, bid/sell prices, timestamps for trades you create. Stored per-user with row-level security so only you can read them.
- Outcomes you record — when you mark a closed trade as success or fail, that outcome is stored alongside the trade and used to tune the predictor for your personal use.
- Browser localStorage — short-lived authentication tokens (issued by Supabase) and your filter / horizon preferences. Used to keep you signed in and the UI consistent.
Community calibration aggregates
When you close a trade, an anonymized counter is incremented in a public table — bucketed by item, horizon, and the predictor's confidence band. The table holds counts and profit sums, not individual trades, and carries no user identifier. It cannot be reversed to identify you, and is the only data that's visible to other users (in aggregate form, via the predictor).
Fader customers
If purchased via the Mac App Store, Apple handles payment, receipt, and any account data per Apple's own privacy practices — I receive only anonymized aggregate sales reports. If sold directly through a payment processor in the future (Gumroad, Stripe, Paddle, etc.), you'll be told which one at checkout; in that case, the processor handles card data and I never see it. I'd retain only your email address for receipt delivery and customer support.
Who else sees the data
- Supabase (auth + database) — stores email and trade records.
- Resend (transactional email) — receives the email address only when delivering a sign-in link.
- Netlify (static hosting) — sees standard request logs (IP, URL, timestamp).
- Apple (only for App Store sales of Fader) — handles payment per their own terms.
Data is never sold, rented, or shared for advertising. There are no advertising scripts, no marketing pixels, no remarketing tracking on any page on this site.
How long things are kept
- Email + trade records: until you delete your account (request via email, or sign out and never come back — both work).
- Anonymous aggregates: indefinitely. They have no link back to you.
- Server access logs: ~30 days, automatically rotated by the host.
Your rights
Under GDPR (which Iceland follows via the EEA agreement) and similar regimes, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data I hold about you
- Correct anything that's inaccurate
- Have your data deleted
- Receive an export of your data in a portable format
- Withdraw consent at any time (which results in account deletion)
- Lodge a complaint with the Icelandic data protection authority (Persónuvernd) if you believe your rights have been violated
To exercise any of these, email eythor@eythor.com. I aim to respond within 30 days.
Cookies and storage
The site uses browser localStorage to (a) keep you signed in across visits, (b) remember filter and horizon preferences, and (c) cache a small amount of community calibration data for performance. These are functionally essential for the app to work and don't require consent under EU ePrivacy rules. There are no third-party tracking cookies.
Children
The services aren't directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in jurisdictions where that age applies) and I don't knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child's data was provided, contact me and I'll delete it.
Changes
This page may be updated as the products evolve. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the current version. Material changes that affect signed-in users will be announced in-app where reasonable.
